Yesterday's Inauguration

I did my best to avoid watching the inauguration yesterday, but I did read up on it as much as I could this morning. Actually I did watch a couple clips of all these people in the crowd gushing tears. Vomit. Anyway, one of the articles I read on the Drudge Report talked about how some people there were calling Obama a prophet and comparing him to Joshua or Moses. Really?! Are we really that naive? Apparently so.

I read part of Obama's speech, which included the alliteration to Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. Dr. King's dream was that one day people would be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. I 100% agree with that. But what happened in this election? Whether you want to accept it or not, we elected a man based on...the color of his skin. Had we judged him by the content of his character, the media would have actually looked into his life a little bit. We might have actually asked him some questions like, "Mr. Obama, why do you associate with known terrorists and communists?" We would have paid attention to his Chicago Big Machine politics. We would have asked about what he has actually done to "change" things. And we would have realized that this is absolutely not a man who upholds the character that our country deserves to sit in the White House. And yet we gave him a free ride and threw out the red carpet to the most powerful position in the world. And we don't know a d*** thing about him.

So Dr. King, unfortunately your dream is still a dream. We still judge others by the color of their skin and not the content of their character. Maybe some day.
