More Healthcare Info for the Uninformed

You know, I hear people out there argue that those opposed of this healthcare reform are "selfish." Really?! Excuse me if it's selfish to hold onto my God-given rights as an American citizen. I apologize if it's selfish of me to not support my money subsidizing abortions, paying for illegals' healthcare, giving the government unprecedented amounts of power and control over my life, oh, and giving them the authority to throw me in jail if I don't buy health insurance. I guess that makes me selfish, in which case I'll be as selfish as possible to prevent that from happening. I hope it's very clear to all the numb skulls out there that this is not about making health insurance more affordable and effective. It's not. And if you believe that, shame on you for being so ignorant. The government is pulling at peoples' heart strings in order to get this un-Constitutional bill passed. "You don't want people to die who can't afford insurance, do you?" And unfortunately, there are enough ignorant people out there who fall for that crap.

WOW!! Lets hear it for the Judge! The article is in the Marble Falls, Texas newspaper. It was written by our former county judge, David Kithil. He voiced his opposition to HB 3200, and gave EXACT SPECIFICS, to include page and paragraph in the bill on why this Health Bill is BAD. I called Thomas Edwards, Editor of the River Cities Tribune, to get legal permission to quote David Kithil's comments. He gave me that permission, so I can quote him. Here are excerpts from the article, giving EXACT pages and paragraphs in the bill and why it is so bad. You can forward this to all of your addressees. I think he hits everything right on the head and the opposition you may encounter cannot argue over these points:

JUDGE KITHIL: "I have reviewed selected sections of the bill and find it unbelievable that our Congress, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, could come up with a bill loaded with so many wrong-headed elements. We do need to reform the health insurance system in America in order to make coverage affordable and available to everyone. But, how many of us believe our federal government can manage a new program any better than the bankrupt Medicare program or the underfunded Social Security program? Both Republicans and Democrats are equally responsible for the financial mess of those two programs.

I am opposed to HB 3200 for a number of reasons. To start with, it is estimated that a federal bureaucracy of more than 150,000 new employees will be required to administer HB3200. That is an unacceptable expansion of a government that is already too intrusive in our lives. If we are going to hire 150,000 new employees, let's put them to work protecting our borders, fighting the massive drug problem and putting more law enforcement/firefighters out there."

NOW, here comes the good stuff: "Other problems I have with this bill include:

Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.

Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual’s bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - ACORN).

Page 203/line 14-15: The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax. (How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)

Page 241 and 253: Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty, and the government will set all doctors' fees.

Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospital will ration care according to the patient's age.

Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion; however, communities may petition for an exception.

Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be required to attend an "end-of-life planning" seminar every five years.

Page 429, line 13-25: The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order."

HAD ENOUGH???? Judge Kithil then goes on: " Finally, it is specifically stated this bill will not apply to members of Congress. Members of Congress are already exempt from the Social Security system and have a well-funded private plan that covers their retirement needs. If they were on our Social Security plan, I believe they would find a very quick "fix" to make the plan financially sound for the future."

For all those who support the new healthcare bill

Before reading the following article, I would just like to ask you one simple question: name one government-run service that functions effectively or efficiently. Can't think of one? Now please explain to me why you think they would be competent to run our health care system? But as you'll find out, this new health care bill is not about giving affordable health care to those who can't afford it - please don't be that naive. It's about expanding government control. Period. Every other country in the world that has implemented a type of government-run health care has failed miserably at it and our government is aware of that. They know that it doesn't work. But they do an amazing job at making you believe otherwise. Read the following article, and if you're still in support of the health care bill, then I hope you don't run for public office in the future.

The Truth About the Health Care Bills - Michael Connelly, Ret. Constitutional Attorney

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn't stop there though.

The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;

The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution." If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

Blinded by the Not-so-subtle Craftiness of Men

Ok friends, it’s been months since my last note and I just can’t hold back anymore. I’ve been reading the news every day this summer and there are a few things that just, ugh, just get me fired up. My skin crawls each time I read about a new pronounced socialist or communist appointed as a “czar” in Obama’s increasingly filthy administration. My stomach turns each time a new sector of our free market is engulfed by the jaws of the government and put into the hands of special interest groups. And blood shoots out of my eyes each time I hear the White House tells us that the recession is over and the economy is recovering. (This administration is really doing a number on my physical health.)
I truly believe that if a person honestly looks at the direction our country is headed that there is no possible way anyone with sound moral judgment will agree that we are headed in the right direction. How could they? What kind of person with a good heart could possibly hope for what is going on here? If you or anyone you know (and unfortunately there’s still way too many out there) still believe in Barack Hussein Obama as the bringer of hope and change, please read down this list and see if it changes your mind. If it doesn’t and afterwards you still believe in this guy, God have mercy on us all.
Capitalism: Obama does not support the American way of life. In fact, he hates it so much that he doesn’t even make an effort to hide his desire to destroy capitalism. Why do you think the United States of America has been the most powerful, prosperous country in the world? One word: capitalism. Why? Because it promotes hard work and incentivizes people to work for an end result. It inspires creativity and innovation. It rewards you and everyone around you for your efforts. Why did the U.S. rise out of World War II as the world superpower? Because they produced! And that’s how we get our economy working again – by allowing the economy to do what it does best: grow.
Here are some ways in which Obama has proven his desire for destroying capitalism:

Financial institutions: The government TARP funds that were approved by Congress were supposed to be used to save the failing banks. But of course that’s not the real reason. Let me ask you, who is the largest stakeholder in Bank of America? Citi Bank? Or any other bank who received TARP funds? Answer: The federal government. And get this – those banks who tried repaying the loans were rejected by the treasury. They didn’t have a choice but to relinquish control over to the government. Sound like capitalism to you? No? What does that sound like? Ah yes, the taboo word: SOCIALISM.

Auto industry: Why do you think American car companies have fared so poorly compared to foreign car makers? If you said the United Auto Workers union, then you are correct. But I won’t go into why unions have been crippling our free market. For now I’ll just point out the largest stakeholder in the American auto industry. You got it, the federal government. And who has Obama been in bed with over the past years? Ding ding ding! The president of the UAW union, who is now all but in complete control of the American auto industry. Sound like capitalism to you?

Health industry: This is my favorite. So far we have given up control to our financial market, auto industry, and many others that have not been discussed in detail (i.e. energy, oil, trade), so why not just give up our health industry while we’re at it?

TO ALL YE PROPONENTS OF NATIONALIZED HEALTH CARE, ARE YOU JUST AMAZINGLY STUPID OR REALLY THAT IGNORANT???
The last time I checked, the United States was the example the rest of the world turned to when attempting to change part of their infrastructure. Why in the world are we then trying to mimic Europe and Canada with our health care? They’ve all been total failures and anyone who thinks differently needs to actually do some research. What country do foreigners come to for health care assuming they can afford it? America. Not France. Not Canada. America. Does anyone know how long the wait is in Europe just to get an appointment with a primary care physician? You’d probably guess a couple weeks or something. Try 17 weeks. 17 weeks just to see a doctor! Are you kidding me!? Is that what our people want?

Now proponents of health care reform will tell you that the government is only going to have a plan to compete with private insurance. This comes from the same people who recently missed calculate our national debt by two trillion dollars. “Oops, it seems we forgot to add in this extra $2 trillion dollars.” And these are the people we want having control over our medical records, where and when we can see a doctor, if and when we can receive surgery, etc.? I definitely believe that the health sector needs reform. But when has giving the government control ever worked out in the peoples’ favor? Can you even think of one?

If any of you still support our president after reading this, you either don’t believe the information (if so get out and do your research – and that doesn’t mean listening to the White House or MSNBC) or you really do want our country to allow socialism to take over. If you fall into the latter category, please, get out of my country. But if you want your children and grandchildren to live with the same privileges that you have, then it’s time to tell the government and your progressive friends that you’ve had enough. Don’t let them suppress your voice any longer! And if any of you have taken offense to any of this, I apologize, but I’m not sorry for saying any of it.

Why I am so Enlightened and You're Not

Our country has come so far in the last few months. I am just so blown away at the enlightening change our country has experienced, starting from the very top. I never thought we’d see the day when the President of the United States would be given so much power – coupled with his extreme intelligence – to be able to fire the CEO of a private company. Of course I’m referring to the CEO of GM who was forced out of his job this week. God bless America, right? It’s about time we, the people, accept the fact that these politicians are so much smarter than us, that they have so much more knowledge of how the world works, of how the economy works. I’m thrilled that we’ve given the president of our country the power to fire whomever he wants. Because labor unions are such a huge asset to our economy, I’m grateful that our president didn’t fire the president of the United Auto Workers. Union are just so great. You know why? Because they can never do anything wrong and are never held accountable for anything – especially for putting our American car companies in a choke hold. We need more organizations like that.

I feel so much better now that our secretary of state, who “mistakenly” forgot to pay over $10,000 in taxes, is now able to decide how much executives of private companies should be paid. It’s about time we let the government control the very basics of our capitalistic society. And you know what, I’m so sick of capitalism. All it does is use poor people to make rich people richer. Being this newly-enlightened, progressive, tolerant society, we should allow everyone the same opportunities to make the same amount of money. We should give everyone free medicine, hospital visits, insurance, and pay for everyone to retire because that will make everyone happy. We need to take money away from the rich, greedy, law-abiding citizens and give it to the people who are better than working for minimum wage so they just don’t work at all.

And what’s with the 75% of Americans who believe that immigration laws should be enforced and illegal immigration is weakening our country? I’m proud to say that I am considered to be among the elite 25% who think that anyone should be able to come into our country and take money away from those greedy, intolerant conservatives and then not pay anything back to the country.

It’s about time that our country decides that we need to go green. It’s been long overdue. We are destroying our world by using so much energy. We use so much energy that it makes me want to throw up every time I see some inconsiderate, irresponsible person leave the room with the light on – and it’s not even an energy-saving light bulb! We’re not in the Stone Age anymore, people. And these big oil companies make me sick. They’re robbing the earth of its natural resources to use for the selfish desires of people – people who think that the earth was made for their benefit. We need more windmills. Remember when we used windmills in the medieval times? They worked just fine and didn’t harm the environment. So what if you can only use electricity in your house for one hour a day? At least the ice caps will stop melting.

I'm Tired

I'll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college, when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I' ve worked hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years.. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am.

Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth around" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it. I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the leftwing Congress critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them-with their own money. I'm tired of being told how bad America is by leftwing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers.

In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the religious freedom and women's rights of Saudi Arabia, the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Gay people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela. Won't multiculturalism be beautiful?

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor;" of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers;" of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery;" of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I believe "a man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin.." I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of President Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming themselves the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of US Senators from Illinois.

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less in an all-knowing government.

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful. That thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress, that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his, that slammed Palin with two years as governor for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever.

Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

I'm tired of being told that out of tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America, while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime.. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"?

And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military. Those are the citizens we need.

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years- and still are? Not even close.

So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt.. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes.

British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers-bums are bi-partisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bi-partisanship.

I live in Illinois, where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats and Republicans has worked together harmoniously to loot the public for years. And I notice that the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet are bi-partisan as well. I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing. I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I'm mighty tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to get to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

Tuesday's Congressional Speech

Well Tuesday night we listened to a stream of blatant lies that most of us just soaked in, not having a clue as to their meaning. Most people don’t realize what’s going on because they’re so still enamored that they’re part of electing an “historical” president. It shouldn’t take long before we start opening our eyes and look past all the glamore to see what our president is doing to our country and to generations to come.

Lie #1: Our economy will collapse if we don’t act immediately. Really? So had Congress not passed the $775 something billion dollars, would America still be alive today? The magic 8 ball points to yes. If Obama can manipulate enough people to believe that extreme, immediate action needs to be taken, he can basically implement any policy he wants. Once he gets this ball rolling, there’s no stop to it. And we’ve allowed him to push the boulder down the mountain and eventually it’s going to smash the small town at the bottom and destroy it. Blood and carnage everywhere. J

Lie #2: Everyone will have to sacrifice priorities where there is no money. Even me. Then why is the government creating debt with no end in sight in order to pay for things that WE DON’T NEED? The biggest sub-lie here is the “down payment” of $650+ billion for universal healthcare. First off, it’s apparently just money that we’re going to save up for when we start universal healthcare. So they’re not even doing anything with it. Just taking it from us. Well, not most of us. They’re taking it from the rich. Yes, if you’ve succeeded in life and made a comfortable living for yourself, be prepared to be taxed up the wazoo to pay for undeserving people to have free healthcare. That’s the American dream at its best. Spread the wealth. So what’s going to happen? People are going to have less money, they’re going to have less spendable income to pump into the economy, the markets will continue to dive bomb, businesses will continue to close, but the 20 illegal immigrants living in the garage next door will have free hospital trips. So everything works out.

Lie #3: I'm proud that we passed a recovery plan free of earmarks. When I read this, I could imagine him saying this while flipping me off and spitting in my face and then giving me a good crouch kicking. Free of earmarks, are you kidding me?! How does he define earmarks? How would he categorize the billions of dollars set aside for batteries, green technology (my biggest beef), new uniforms for agencies, tatoo removal studies, and all that money that will end up in the hands of special interest groups such as ACORN? Those aren’t earmarks? So if I shoot somebody in the nose, does that mean I didn’t actually shoot him in the face? And let’s not forget all the billions of dollars allocated to the banks and mortgage companies and the idiots out there who bought a house they knew they couldn’t afford. Oh, that reminds of of another sub-lie here: Obama said the people who acted irresponsibly will not receive any bailouts. Please.

I could go on and on but my fingers are tired from typing. I can’t believe a word this guy says because every statement is followed by a hypocritical, contradictory action. Something that does somewhat lift my spirits is that President Obama has the lowest approval rating for his first month of presidency than any other former president. So maybe he’s not the Messiah afterall.

And the Oscar Goes To...

Last night I gave into watching the Oscars. The whole 3.5 hours. Straight. There’s plenty of complaints I can make about it, but let’s start with the positives first. Hugh Jackman did a pretty good job as the host. I’ve added him to the list of celebrities who unbeknownst to me have an English accent. Ben Stiller added a nice touch with his Joaquin Phoenix impersonation. And the musical montage performance was pretty good. It wasn’t all that bad, at least not until homeboy Sean Penn took to the stand. I’ve always thought this guy was a complete joke. I don’t know where these actors come off thinking that just because they’re in movies they’re God’s gift to the world. I swear I’ll throw up next time I hear George Clooney talk about why America is destroying the environment and causing global warming. But that’s not the point of this thought sequence.

Sean Penn gets up after accepting the ward for his role in Milk, an obscenely-spun viewpoint on gay rights and liberal activism, and first off the guy can’t talk. He stumbles all over his words like a guy with polio walking on water logs. When he started talking I told Whitney, “He’s going to say something stupid.” And he did. And it went something like this:

I hope everyone who opposed gay marriage will contemplate the shame that they should feel and that their grandkids will see in them.

Excuse me? So you’re telling me that I should be ashamed because I hold to a set of basic values? And of course after he says this everyone in the audience starts clapping and cheering as though he’s the next Martin Luther King. I’m fine with you having that viewpoint. But where do you get off telling the large majority of Americans who oppose your viewpoint that they should be ashamed? You know what Hollywood – and everyone else who agrees with Mr. Penn – you’re all tools. Manipulative, poison-infected tools. This is supposed to be the progressive group of Americans who’s all about free speech and voicing your opinion, about equal rights and standing for what you believe. Can we find any more blatant hypocrites than those we honored last night?

Where’s my free speech? Why should I be shunned and persecuted for my opinion? Explain to me how Sean Penn can look me in the eye and honestly say that he believes in the right to free speech when he goes and says something like that. And it’s not just him – it’s the whole (insert desired explicit) liberal movement! I’m being called a hatemonger for believing that God still expects us to uphold certain values – and to fight for those values. I don’t care if it’s in vogue to be green, or tolerant, or socialist. Why do we let a small minority of Hollywood prima donnas determine what we should and shouldn’t believe in? People in this country can be so ignorant as to where they get their information from.
Oh, and another side note but along the same lines. So the screen writer for Milk won his category and of course he’s gay and of course he includes in his speech how good it felt to leave a “conservative Mormon” home and find a way to live free and express himself. Oh I’m just so happy for you. You opened my eyes – I’ve been trapped inside my conservative, intolerant world all my life and don’t know what it really means to love and accept people for who they are. And then the guy cried. Just so touching.

Free speech was meant to go both ways and people like those we revere in Hollywood believes it’s only supposed to benefit them and crush the opposition. And of course they’ll disagree and accuse their opposition of being intolerable, and I wouldn’t expect anything more. They’re cowards who only put up a fight when they know they’ll win, and they only win by pulling a Tonya Harding and bashing your knees out from under you. So to all of Hollywood – great will be the day when you drown in the Pacific.

To end on a positive note, I had a really refreshing workout this morning.

The Almighty Stimulus Plan

This little editorial was posted in the BYU Daily Universe last week. I know, it's a big deal.

Ok, is anyone else out there just completely insulted at the hypocrisy exhibited by the Democrats and Comrade Obama? Seriously, I can't stand it anymore. Take this so-called "stimulus" package that Obama says must be passed or our country will never recover from this recession. He's actually using fear to make us believe that we need to spend trillions of dollars (yes, it's not just the $900 billion anymore) to save our economy. Remember when September 11 happened and the liberals accused President Bush of using fear to persuade us to retaliate? But apparently it's ok to use fear to make us believe that we need to waste our money for egregious purposes. Anyone with half a brain knows that pumping money into the economy like this will only come from raised taxes, which is the absolute worst thing to do during a recession. Here's a little insight into this "economic stimulus package:" $90 billion for Medicaid, $2.4 billion for neighborhood stabilization activities, $6.2 billion for a weatherization assistance program, to name a few. And this list goes on. Tell me this, how does any of this actually stimulate the economy? Answer: it doesn't. So why are the Democrats misrepresenting it as such? Because calling it a "Socialist Stimulus Package" doesn't sound as flattering. But isn't that what this is all about? Nationalizing the banks, the free market, healthcare – it's all socialism. It's all aimed at making the people dependent on the government. Why not spend money on things that matter, like drilling for oil? Hey, that might help us become energy independent. But wait, that wouldn't fit into the Green movement – and anyone that rejects global warming is apparently a Holocaust denier. The bottom line is our country is under attack by an enemy far worse than any terrorist – socialism. And so far, our new president has very subtly acted in the name of socialism. I stand with Rush Limbaugh: I hope he fails. Not because I'm a racist or a hatemonger, but because I love my country and his policies will only lead to a weaker America.

What the Government Should Do

This is why the so-called “stimulus” package will not work. The biggest reason: it’s not meant to stimulate the economy. It’s meant to stimulate government growth and expansion. If you look at all the different provisions laid out in the stimulus plan, there are very few that can be justified for economic growth. Billions of dollars are being reserved for meaningless projects like STD preventive studies, renovating buildings like the Smithsonian, universal healthcare, free healthcare for illegal aliens, to name a few. The only people who benefit from this policy are those in high-ranking government positions. Here’s the thing: when a country is experiencing a recession, the worst possible thing the government can do is intervene and start a spending craze. Remember when the Democrats were freaking out at Bush’s intense spending? Well Obama’s proposed policies will far and away trump any spending during the Bush Administration. This enormous amount of money has to come from the taxpayers because we aren’t going to get anymore loans from China or other countries because the dollar has lost most its value. So multiple generations of Americans will be paying for these bailouts.

People like to compare Obama to FDR, and in many ways they’re alike. The Great Depression lasted seven years longer than it should have. The New Deal was not meant to bring the economy back to life, it was meant merely to ensure Democratic power for decades, as was the result. Obama’s plans are exactly the same. If he was really concerned about bringing the economy back to life, he would exert some discipline and allow the free market to correct itself. Many people don’t know about the depression in 1920. It had the potential to be just as bad as the Great Depression, but it was short-lived because the presidency at the time did not try and control the market. Result: the market turned around on its own. You know, businesses all over are cutting back to accommodate the slow economy. So why is the government expanding more than ever? Something to think about.

Japan went through a similar recession in the 90’s and tried a very similar stimulus package. What happened? Unemployment actually increased along with a huge national debt, and their economy has been crappy ever since. So I don’t understand why our government believes that it will work this time. The point of history is to learn from it to make a better future. Well, the New Deal was a disaster (despite what I learned in high school – I actually believed FDR was this amazing president until I learned more about him over the last couple years), Japan’s attempts failed, and this New New Deal will inevitably fail.

If Obama is insistent on pumping money into the economy, then he should do it in the form of tax cuts. That way the money comes back to the tax payers without increasing inflation by printing new money. The best thing he could do is cut the business tax rate – which is ridiculously high. With the tax rates so high – and Obama has promised to increase them – they have no incentive to expand and higher more people, which means no new jobs. But if they got a break and were encouraged to grow, then more jobs would be available and the economy would experience a huge jump start and begin its upswing. So that’s what I would do – cut the corporate tax rates and individual rates. The absolute worst thing to do in a struggling economy is increase spending and pump money into the system. You can’t spend your way out of a recession, you have to produce. Obama along with most of Washington doesn’t seem to understand that. And frankly, he’s got the same economic intelligence as his new dog. But it looks like we and many future generations will be paying for this egregious stimulus package.

Petition Against Rush Limbaugh

Here we go again. Anybody read the article about the Democrats petitioning against Rush Limbaugh? They’re so upset because Rush said that if Obama’s policies promote socialism, then he wants Obama to fail. And I totally agree. Why would anyone want socialist policies to succeed? Except of course those liberals that benefit from them. Democrats are also looking into the Fairness Doctrine, which would all but destroy conservative talk radio.

Is anybody else up in arms about this? We spent the last eight years listening to liberals absolutely tear apart the Bush Administration for the very slightest of things. And now we have an extreme liberal president who is preparing to completely turn our country upside down, and because a prominent conservative voice is against these socialist policies, we’re trying to shut him up completely. These Democrats have no shame. How can people be so blatantly hypocritical and live with themselves? When the Republicans controlled the White House, the Democrats did everything they could to suspend any new policy that came out. And now that the liberals have control, they expect the GOP to lie down and support all their insanely ridiculous policies. I mean, this stimulus package includes $335 million to prevent STDs. What the hell is that about? How about this….don’t freaking sleep around. There. I just saved our country $335 million. Put me in the White House.

Our country was based on some very fundamental rights, and one of those included the right to free speech. Today, free speech only applies to gays and other minorities but does not apply to conservatives. Am I just being overly-critical? Absolutely not. Read the Fairness Doctrine. It’s only intent is to destroy the free speech for those who oppose liberal ideology. That’s not the America that our Founding Fathers foresaw. And it’s not the America that God works so hard to preserve, despite our every attempt to push Him away.

Obama's Grand Economic Recovery Plan

A new week brings new details regarding the proposed economic stimulus package. It just gets more ridiculous every time I read about it. I read a couple articles on DrudgeReport.com about Obama telling the Republicans to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh or nothing will get done. He’s been in office for less than a week and already he’s complaining about conservative talk show hosts. Not even politicians. Talk show hosts. Seriously? Are we back in middle school? “Hey, don’t be his friend. He’s mean.”

Now onto a semi-new topic. I grew up being taught in school that FDR was one of the greatest presidents we’ve had. He was the one who saved us from the Great Depression. It wasn’t until only a couple years ago when I started doing a little research on the guy. He didn’t help anything! If anything, he extended the Depression for another six or seven years after taking office. His New Deal was nothing more than a “sign your lives away to the government and we’ll take care of you” plan. He didn’t what was best for the people who placed him in office. He did what was best or his party. He wanted to make sure that the Democratic Party would remain in power for years after his presidency. And it worked. The Democrats had the majority of the power for the next 50 years. Lesson: unless you’re a big government-loving liberal, FDR was a complete bust of a president.

President Obama (ugh, that sounds awful) is following directly in FDR’s footsteps. His economic plan is aimed at putting more control in the hands of the federal government. He makes all these promises about the lower class being taken care of through free health care blah blah blah (insert rhetoric here). Here’s the thing: anyone with half a functional brain knows that injecting billions, wait, trillions of dollars DOES NOT stimulate the economy. “So what you’re saying, Brad, is that the Democrats pushing for this stimulus package don’t have half of a functional brain?” Not exactly. They know what they’re doing. They’re aware that the economy will not get any better through socialist measures. What they’re doing is re-establishing their long-term reign of power. That’s all. If they had the American people in mind, they would not be further crippling the economy and the consumer by putting the country further in debt.

Last thought: Most of the lower class have been voting Democrat since the time of FDR because the Democrats are supposedly the “Poor People’s Party.” Here’s the thing. 50 years of poor, urban people voting Democrat, THEY’RE STILL POOR! You know what they say about people who keep making the same mistake over and over again….

Yesterday's Inauguration

I did my best to avoid watching the inauguration yesterday, but I did read up on it as much as I could this morning. Actually I did watch a couple clips of all these people in the crowd gushing tears. Vomit. Anyway, one of the articles I read on the Drudge Report talked about how some people there were calling Obama a prophet and comparing him to Joshua or Moses. Really?! Are we really that naive? Apparently so.

I read part of Obama's speech, which included the alliteration to Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. Dr. King's dream was that one day people would be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. I 100% agree with that. But what happened in this election? Whether you want to accept it or not, we elected a man based on...the color of his skin. Had we judged him by the content of his character, the media would have actually looked into his life a little bit. We might have actually asked him some questions like, "Mr. Obama, why do you associate with known terrorists and communists?" We would have paid attention to his Chicago Big Machine politics. We would have asked about what he has actually done to "change" things. And we would have realized that this is absolutely not a man who upholds the character that our country deserves to sit in the White House. And yet we gave him a free ride and threw out the red carpet to the most powerful position in the world. And we don't know a d*** thing about him.

So Dr. King, unfortunately your dream is still a dream. We still judge others by the color of their skin and not the content of their character. Maybe some day.

Back

After being gone for a three-week vacation, I’m back and all caught up on the current news. I’m a little irritated when I watch any news TV station or walk into any store with magazines and there is a constant theme of: The most historical president inauguration. I guess it depends on your perspective of “historical.” I’ll tell you mine.

The reason this is such an historical event is because this is the first time that our country has elected a president without even knowing who he is. And when interesting events started surfacing, for example, all of Obama’s questionable ties to known terrorists, socialists, extremists, elitists, etc. we didn’t even care. And why didn’t we care? Well, let’s be frank. A major component is that he’s black and somehow by overlooking all of these characteristics that would immediately discredit a conservative politician, we convince ourselves that we’re not biased to race or religion.

Now we are starting to see the fruits of our labors. Has anyone noticed the cabinet that Obama is selecting? Anyone know who Carol M. Browner is? She is now Obama’s Global Climate Czar. What was she up to before being appointed to a pointless position in a pointless agency? She was a member of a socialist group that favors a one-world government. Now I will give Obama credit for being consistent in his cabinet appointees – they’re all for destroying everything our country was founded upon.

And who knows Henry Rivera? He is Obama’s transition chief for the Federal Communications Commission. What does this mean? Anybody heard of the Fairness Doctrine? First of all, the name is blatantly misleading. A better name would be the Censorship Doctrine. Basically it states that for every conservative-based radio talk show program, the radio station would be required to put on a liberal-based show at the station’s expense. What does this mean? Well, we’re at the point now that we can say without any doubt that the liberals have overtaken the media. Newspapers, magazines, television, Hollywood – it’s all blatantly anti-conservative. And anybody who disagrees is blind and arrogant. So the only source that conservatives have to get out their voice is talk radio – and it’s a very strong source. Millions of people listen to talk radio because they want to receive information from a source that’s not polluted with liberal agendas.
The Democrats are very aware of the power of talk radio and so they will soon be working on bringing back the “Fairness” Doctrine. Obama is as far left as they go and although he has not openly supported the doctrine, his overall transition chief, John Podesta, is a huge proponent. And I want to still give Obama credit for his consistency, and he has consistently voted left, so the obvious answer is he will also be in support of this doctrine. Now once this doctrine is passed, our right to free speech will be completely obliterated. The Democrats will have control of every house of Congress, all stems of the media, and the soon-to-be turned liberal Supreme Court. If this happens, we will see a new chapter in American history that our Founding Fathers sought to prevent – complete government control.

Now aware of the implications of the Fairness Doctrine, what can we do? Well for starters, we better write to our representatives and let them know that they better not support the doctrine. Oh, and I guess before that we have to believe that the doctrine is absolutely detrimental to our country. IF you don’t believe that yet, move to France. But if you do believe it, then get out there and put up a fight!
