Obama's Grand Economic Recovery Plan

A new week brings new details regarding the proposed economic stimulus package. It just gets more ridiculous every time I read about it. I read a couple articles on DrudgeReport.com about Obama telling the Republicans to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh or nothing will get done. He’s been in office for less than a week and already he’s complaining about conservative talk show hosts. Not even politicians. Talk show hosts. Seriously? Are we back in middle school? “Hey, don’t be his friend. He’s mean.”

Now onto a semi-new topic. I grew up being taught in school that FDR was one of the greatest presidents we’ve had. He was the one who saved us from the Great Depression. It wasn’t until only a couple years ago when I started doing a little research on the guy. He didn’t help anything! If anything, he extended the Depression for another six or seven years after taking office. His New Deal was nothing more than a “sign your lives away to the government and we’ll take care of you” plan. He didn’t what was best for the people who placed him in office. He did what was best or his party. He wanted to make sure that the Democratic Party would remain in power for years after his presidency. And it worked. The Democrats had the majority of the power for the next 50 years. Lesson: unless you’re a big government-loving liberal, FDR was a complete bust of a president.

President Obama (ugh, that sounds awful) is following directly in FDR’s footsteps. His economic plan is aimed at putting more control in the hands of the federal government. He makes all these promises about the lower class being taken care of through free health care blah blah blah (insert rhetoric here). Here’s the thing: anyone with half a functional brain knows that injecting billions, wait, trillions of dollars DOES NOT stimulate the economy. “So what you’re saying, Brad, is that the Democrats pushing for this stimulus package don’t have half of a functional brain?” Not exactly. They know what they’re doing. They’re aware that the economy will not get any better through socialist measures. What they’re doing is re-establishing their long-term reign of power. That’s all. If they had the American people in mind, they would not be further crippling the economy and the consumer by putting the country further in debt.

Last thought: Most of the lower class have been voting Democrat since the time of FDR because the Democrats are supposedly the “Poor People’s Party.” Here’s the thing. 50 years of poor, urban people voting Democrat, THEY’RE STILL POOR! You know what they say about people who keep making the same mistake over and over again….
